At its core, the game we love is all about dreams - the dreams we all share. The dream of stepping onto the field, of wearing the badge with pride, of scoring that winning goal, of playing in a grand stadium, of becoming a professional footballer. These dreams are far from easy to achieve.
The reality is only 1% of footballers reach the professional level. It requires more than just relentless training, dedication, and sacrifice; it demands mental toughness, resilience, and an unwavering determination to succeed. These players deserve the opportunity to excel both on and off the field; the need the chance to succeed; to reach out and positively touch the world and make a difference. They merit the assistance of the global community, so that they can grow and succeed athletically and academically; physically and psychologically. These individuals need a strong support network. Advocates who stand behind them, offering mentoring, coaching, and philanthropic support.
That's why we created Global Football Connect®. We are the platform that combines football development & opportunities with training and mentorship to help these players to succeed in life as well as in the world of football.
To us, Football is Life and we want them to be proud to develop, excel, and do whatever brings then closer to their football dreams.
Our Story
In his 1889 essay, The Decay of Lying: An Observation, Oscar Wilde said, "Life imitates art far more than art imitates life." In the same way, we believe that "Football is Life" that the game allows each individual player a means of expression and the lessons that the game teaches simulates those lessons that life tries to instill as well; character, diligence, perseverance, resilience are just but a few.
Football and life allow us to see the incredible achievements that people are capable of, regardless of race, religion, or social station. The game is a mirror; a reflection of our strengths and our weaknesses. When we allow the game to be our guide; it shows individuals that they are capable of almost anything that they truly set their minds to. It can also be a harsh teacher; revealing our shortcomings, and demanding that in order to reach the pinnacle that, like anything in life, we must be prepared to sacrifice, to have the highest of work ethics, and be prepared to face the unknown. This is Football, this is the essence at the heart of 'The Beautiful Game.'
To us at Global Football Connect®, the game does not belong to anyone; it belongs to everyone. The world football community is massive and we believe that every part should be inclusive, never exclusive. Being at the top of the football pyramid, should never be solely about the haves and have nots; never just targeted on wins and losses. Football is about harnessing that power found inside of us and utilizing it to help us become the best that we can be on and off the field.
Many soccer pundits, coaches, experts often use the phrase that players need to be "students of the game", but we believe that everyone should constantly be learning and learning does not exclusively encompass what happens on the field. Universal respect for everyone's race, religion, sexuality; the precepts of common decency, start right from inside our own individual football microcosms and should spread outward to make the larger football community stronger. We believe in the contributions of everyone; no caste systems, everyone and what they bring to the game is important and what makes this game something that is revered by billions worldwide. That is what makes us proud to be part of the world football community.
In order for all players to have opportunity for success, we have to act on behalf of the majority and not just the minority. All players deserve access to professional academy training environments without the exorbitant costs associated that further tax families and prevent talented players from all walks of life from receiving the type of training and mentorship that currently is afforded to players at the top level or superior economic status. We need philanthropists, businesses, and individuals that are committed to investment in not just facilities, but in the coaches and players as well. These people need to be willing to partner to make both our short term goals, as well as our long term goals a reality. We want what we are creating to have an impact on the players as well as the overall community. Given the right opportunity, the right training, and the right tools; we feel that excellence can be achieved by everyone who truly wants it.
Football is universal. The feelings that it evokes, the way that it touches our souls, brings us incredible excitement and sometimes deep sadness. Football is imperfect and as such, often reveals our imperfections. We at Global Football Connect® believe that the game, as great as it is, could still be more and it is this belief that moves us forward. We choose not to be mediocre, we choose not to accept the way things are just because that is the way that it has always been. We are the risk takers, the dreamers, the visionaries. We are the champions of change, the catalysts for a new way of thinking, a new way of believing, a new way of succeeding,
The game of football is one of the most powerful mediums of communication. Through it, we can see the limitlessness of human potential and the heights of our achievements. The game is a celebration of life and of joy and on the simplest level offers all of those billions who embrace it, a sense of purpose and of worth.
